CEO/PRODUCER
Joe began his career working with several independent companies, eventually landing at Wizard Entertainment, a small distribution entity, which had acquired the label and library of Full Moon Features, the highly respected horror film company responsible for such cult hits as “PUPPET MASTER” and “GHOULIES.” After only six months, Joe was promoted from Production Assistant to Production Coordinator on several films. He was given an opportunity to co-produce his first feature, the camp horror film, “DELTA, DELTA DIE” starring scream queen Julie Strain.
Soon after, he was promoted to company Line Producer. After several projects he was promoted to VP of Production overseeing the entire Wizard Entertainment/Full Moon Feature Film slate. During this time, Joe started his own company, Shoot Productions. With his then current relationship, Joe transitioned Shoot Productions into a multi-picture deal with Wizard Entertainment/Full Moon Features, placing his new company as the production entity.
Shoot Productions produced the entire Wizard/Full Moon slate, including hit cult classics; “THE GINGERDEAD MAN”, starring Gary Busey, “THE CUTTER’S CLUB”, starring Tony Todd, the stoner comedy “EVIL BONG”, starring Tommy Chong and “DEAD MAN’S HAND”, starring Sid Haig and Michael Barryman.
During this time, Shoot Productions began to build on its strong reputation to deliver quality films for low budgets. Joe seized the opportunity to break away from producing horror films and take Shoot Productions to the next level and create a new multi-faceted production entity.
During his research for the pilot, "MISSING, BRING THEM HOME" Joe was shocked to learn the statistics on missing and exploited children in the United States. This experience prompted him to produce, “GARDENS OF THE NIGHT” for writer/director Damian Harris about a girl abducted at the age of 8 years old and forced into prostitution who eventually becomes a dead-eyed streetwalker at 17. The film stars Tom Arnold, Kevin Zegers and John Malkovich and made its world premiere in the 2008 International Berlin Film Festival. City Lights Pictures later distributed the film for limited theatrical release in late 2008 and is currently playing on Showtime.
Since 2006 the aggressive company has produced a slate of projects, including: High School Comedy, "FOREIGN EXCHANGE”, starring up and comers Ryan Pinkston and Vanessa Lengies along with Jennifer Coolidge of the hugely successful American Pie franchise. The film was co-produced with Full Glass Films and distributed by Screen Media; the psychological thriller, "CIRCLE" starring Jason Thompson (General Hospital) and Emmy Nominated actress, Gail O'Grady helmed by Emmy Winner Michael Watkins and the religious drama, coming of age film, THE INNER CIRCLE, starring Mariette Hartley and the 2009 Official Selection in both the International Eugene Film Festival and LA Femme Film Festival.
Independently of his company, Joe has produced the action, horror film, “THE DEVIL’S TOMB” co-produced with Sid Sheinberg’s company and starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Ray Winstone and Ron Pearlman for Sony Home Entertainment and most recently, a new celebrity driven court room TV show, “THE HOLLYWOOD JUDGE.”
The company currently has multiple projects in various stages of development.
